The Tots-to-Teens totlers & Tiaras pageant

Get ready! Your child can be part of an open call for models to participate in the 2015 Tots-to-Teens Totlers & Tiaras Pageant. Please use the form below or contact us via email at info@thebetterfamily.com to register and reserve your child's place in next year's auditions (registration is not a requirement, but unregistered attendees will be auditioned on a first-come, first-served basis).

Please be sure to include your contact information (name, address, your email address, a valid phone number and the best time of day to reach you). No photo or video submissions will be accepted at this stage of the competition.

Categories include: Formal Wear, Casual Wear, and Q & A.

Pageant Requirements and Criteria:

  • The competition is open to girls and boys ages 3 to 9
  • All toddlers must be potty trained
  • No make-up please, except lip gloss or lip balm
  • No belly exposure or inappropriate attire
  • Age appropriate attire only!
  • Please note: By submitting your information and agreeing to have your child or children take part in the Pageant, you are stating that you are aware and agree to allow your child's photo to appear on our website as part of the preliminary site visitor/voter selection process. The winning contestents will be announced on March 29th. Up to 10 boys and 10 girls will be selected to compete in the Pageant. Good luck!

General Information

  • Good sportsmanship is required at all times by contestants, parents and guests. Bad Sportsmanship is NEVER tolerated!
  • If it occurs, you will be DISQUALIFIED without a refund and any awards received will be forfeited.
  • Each contestant will sign a sportsmanship contract at registration that states: if any contestant or their parent / guardian violates our sportsmanship rules at any time, they will be DISQUALIFIED! Any awards received will be forfeited and they will be asked to leave immediately with no refund. EVERYONE who comes to our Expo and participates in our pageant has the right to be treated with kindness and respect!

Pageant Rules

  • Children must be supervised at all times.
  • Contestants must be on time for all scheduled events
  • Any contestant who is found running around or entering the stage area when another contestant is competing will be disqualified! This distracts the judges and the competitors and is not fair to them.
  • Contestants must pay an entry fees for the contest.
  • All contestants must remain until crowning in order to receive prizes.
  • Any contestant that leaves before crowning, forfeits their prizes and no refund will be given. All applicants must apply on line by April 5th.

Backstage Passes

  • All children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Contestant and one parent or guardian will also get a free backstage pass.
  • No men are allowed in the dressing rooms at ANY time.
  • Backstage passes are intended for parents, hair dresser, and coaches

Entries & Fees

  • All contestants must fill out an application on our website.
  • Submission of an application does not ensure your acceptance to the pageant.
  • You will be required to pay a $35 fee to reserve your spot.
  • Spots are reserved in the order in which payments are received.
  • No entries or fees will be accepted once registration is closed 2 weeks prior to the pageant.
  • Absolutely NO fees or entries will be accepted the day of the pageant.

Refunds

  • Fees are non-refundable
  • In the event that the director cancels the show, fees will be refunded

Age Groups

  • The page is for girls and boys ages 3 - 9.
  • There will be two competing age groups 3 -5 and 6 to 9
  • We do offer a 60 day grace period on Age Categories.
  • We reserve the right to combine age categories due to number of entries
  • A minimum of 10 contestants per pageant are required or director reserves the right to cancel.

Number of Contestants Possible

  • We will accept up to 10 contestants per age division

On Stage Coaches

  • Children in the 0-5 age groups are allowed to have a parent or guardian accompany them on stage.
  • On-stage coaches are encouraged to wear simple, black clothing.
  • The guardian's purpose on stage is to help the child be the star by letting her personality & strengths shine through
  • No other age category is eligible to have a parent or guardian on stage and any event of the competition.

Judging

  • All decisions of the judges are final.
  • Do not approach the judges before, during or after the pageant.
  • It is okay to speak with the judges if they approach you.
  • Judges will be people who are not directly affiliated with contestants entering the pageants.
  • No information will be given out about the contestant groups or the judges until the day of the pageant
  • Group information will be available after registration.
  • No one will be permitted to sit or stand beside or in front of the judges.
  • Parents may sit or stand behind the judges to coach their children while they are on stage.
  • However, you may NOT crowd the judges. Please sit or stand behind the designated judging area.
  • Contestants are judged for ability in each age group (more poise & focus will be expected of an older contestant)

How Scores are Tabulated

  • Contestants are required to participate in Formal wear, Casual Wear & Q &A
  • Each category is worth 50 points for a total of 150 possible per judge.
  • In the event of a tie, it will be broken by comparing the average personality scores across all categories entered.
  • Contestants are judged for ability in each age group (more poise & focus will be expected of an older contestant)

Goodie Bags

  • Each contestant will receive a goodie bag
  • Goodie bags are related to the pageant theme
  • Prize gift bags will include fun, age appropriate gifts
